Recently, the Labour Directorate (Ord. 635), stated that there is no impediment to delivering the Internal Regulations of Order, Hygiene and Safety by electronic means, to the extent that:
- The workers expressly consent to the Regulations being sent electronically.
- Once the Regulations have been drawn up, the document must be sent by e-mail to the private (non-institutional) mailbox that the worker has indicated to the employer. There is also no objection to sending it on a USB flash drive or CD, in addition to the e-mail.
We recommend that employers review the format of their employment contracts to allow for electronic labour documentation to be sent to workers.
