New National ID Card in Chile
Starting today, December 16, a renewed National ID card will be available across Chile, featuring technological advancements, enhanced security measures, and inclusive characteristics. This document marks a significant leap in both national and international standards for personal identification.
ID cards renewed online will retain the same personal data as the last issued version. However, the expiration date and document number will be updated.

Validity:
Online-renewed IDs are valid for three years, whereas in-person renewals are valid for eight years.
When Can You Apply?
The new ID card is available starting TODAY, December 16, 2024.
What About Existing IDs?
IDs and passports issued before this date remain valid until their expiration date.
Online Renewal and Reprinting:
The renewal or reprinting process can also be completed digitally through the Civil Registry’s online services.
