With the Law 21.567, police powers were established to carry out controls, in accordance with Law 21.325. But, what documents do you need to certify your regular residence in Chile? Here we explain it to you! ??
If you have a residence permit, simply show your valid identity card. If possible, add the electronic stamp or visa confirming your residence in the country.
If you sent an application, change or extension of a residence permit to the National Migration Service, you must show the certificate issued by them in support of your application.
In case your identity card has expired, according to the provisions of article 43 of Law 21.325, it will be considered valid if you have a residence certificate in process pending until the National Migration Service resolves your application. Therefore, you must show the expired ID card together with the corresponding certificate of residence in process.
Remember that, regardless of your nationality or migratory status, police controls must respect the principle of proportionality and equal treatment. ??
