On May 9, 2023, Law No. 21.565 was published in the Official Journal, which establishes a regime of protection and comprehensive reparation for victims of femicide. Among the measures provided for by the Law is the granting of a labour privilege to victims of attempted or attempted femicide, in the following terms:
1. The leave of absence will last for one year from the perpetration of the act.
2. The victim must file a complaint with the employer.
3. The victim may request the employer to temporarily adjust his or her employment benefits during the period of the protection.
4. Appearance at any investigation and legal proceedings associated with the attempted or attempted femicide will be sufficient cause for justification in the case of absence from work.
